Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 August 2026

This policy explains how Motrav Mobility Private Limited (“Ticketrao”, “we”) handles personal data when you use our WhatsApp service or our agent dashboard. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Who we are

Motrav Mobility Private Limited is a private limited company registered in India.

We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below. You are the Data Principal.

2. What we do, in one paragraph

Ticketrao is a lead-generation and dispatch platform. When you message us on WhatsApp asking for a train or bus ticket, we read your request, turn it into a structured enquiry, and offer it to verified travel agents who cover your route. One agent takes it and contacts you. We do not book tickets, issue tickets, or take payment for tickets. The agent does that, directly with you.

3. What we collect

From passengers

  • Your WhatsApp phone number, and the display name WhatsApp shows us.
  • The content of the messages you send us, and the messages we send you.
  • Your travel request: origin, destination, date, class, number of travellers, and any other requirement you mention.
  • Your preferred language, and the times you contacted us.
  • A record of the consent you gave, and when.

Traveller details (name, age, gender) — only if you separately agree

A booking needs each traveller’s name, age and gender. We ask for these separately and only store them if you say yes, so that a future booking is faster. If you decline, nothing changes about the service — you give those details to the agent directly instead.

From agents

  • Name, mobile number, business name, shop address, city and PIN code.
  • PAN, bank account number and IFSC, for verification and settlement.
  • IRCTC / RTSA agent registration number, where applicable.
  • Activity on the dashboard: leads offered, claimed, and completed.

We do not collect location data, contact lists, or anything from your device. There is no app to install.

4. Why we use it, and on what basis

We process passenger data on the basis of the consent you give in the WhatsApp conversation before your request is shared with any agent. You can decline, and you can withdraw consent later.

  • To understand your request and confirm it back to you.
  • To pass your request to a verified agent who can act on it.
  • To let that agent contact you.
  • To improve how accurately we read messages. Message text is used to correct and extend our own city-spelling dictionary.
  • To resolve disputes, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.

Agent data is processed to operate the agreement between us — verification, billing, and the dashboard.

5. Who we share it with

One agent, not many

Before an agent takes your request, they can see the journey — route, date, class, number of travellers — and nothing that identifies you. Your phone number is released to exactly one agent: the one who takes your request. It is not broadcast to every agent on the platform.

Agents are independent businesses. Once your details reach an agent, that agent is responsible for how they handle them. We require agents to use your details only to serve your request.

Service providers

  • Meta Platforms — WhatsApp carries the conversation, so Meta necessarily processes your messages under its own terms.
  • Google (Gemini) — when our own parser cannot read a message, we send the text to Google’s language model to interpret it. We remove phone numbers, email addresses, and long identifiers before sending. The model receives the journey, not the person.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers in India or the region, to run the service.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.

6. How long we keep it

These periods are enforced by automated deletion jobs, not by policy alone.

DataKept for
PNR and ticket documents72 hours after issue, then erased
Message content90 days, then erased
Traveller details (name, age, gender)Until you withdraw consent
Completed or cancelled enquiries12 months
Your phone number and consent recordWhile your account is active with us
Records of administrative actions24 months

Agent KYC and billing records are kept for as long as required under Indian tax and company law.

7. How we protect it

  • PAN numbers, bank account numbers, traveller names and PNRs are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before they are written to our database.
  • All traffic is encrypted in transit.
  • Phone numbers are masked in our operational logs — the last four digits only.
  • Agent dashboards show only the leads offered to that agent, and passenger numbers only after a lead is taken.
  • Administrative access is restricted and every action is recorded.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may:

  • Ask what personal data of yours we hold and how it has been used.
  • Ask us to correct or complete inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to erase your data where we no longer need it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time. Message STOP on WhatsApp, or contact us using the details below. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer pass requests to agents, so the service stops.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
  • Raise a grievance, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

We respond to requests within 30 days. There is no charge.

9. Children

Our service is meant for adults booking travel. We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18 as a Data Principal. Where a child travels, their details are provided by the adult making the booking. If you believe a child has contacted us directly, tell us and we will erase the record.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date at the top and tell you on WhatsApp before the change takes effect.

11. Contact and grievances
