Festival rush: train and bus options when everything is full
Trains to home towns fill up the day the booking window opens. If you missed it, there are still things worth trying.
The booking window is what matters
Reservations currently open 60 days before the journey. For a festival date, that is the day that counts, and popular trains go to waiting list within minutes. If you already know your dates, the earlier you ask, the more options there are.
If your train is full
Check the days around your date, because a day earlier or later can be very different. Also check nearby stations, connecting trains through a major junction, and buses. The railways announce festival special trains close to the date, and an agent can tell you whether one runs on your route.
Message early
Cancellations are most likely in the days before the chart is prepared. If you send your route early, an agent can keep trying for you instead of you refreshing the app all night.
We do not book tickets and we do not take money for them. A verified local agent does the booking and tells you the full amount before you pay. Nobody can guarantee a seat on a full train.
